The SDSGA supports HB1201 

(a bill to establish 7 districts in SD in which nominations and elections would be held by brand owners in those districts).

At the SD Senate State Affairs, the bill was tabled by the request of SDSGA in order to address potential problems in the Brand Board concerning issues of brand inspection, brand investigation, brand issuance. The SDSGA proposed an ad-hoc committee under the guidance of Secretary of Ag Hunter Roberts that will include representatives from the Brand Board, the SD Cattlemans Association, the South Dakota Livestock Auction Markets Association and ourselves to identify and work through issues that impede the quality of the state's brand inspection program.
